Link Medicine

Link Medicine was launched in 2005 by Peter T. Lansbury, Jr., a Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and one of the world's leading authorities in the area of protein aggregation as it relates to neurodegeneration. Rather than focus on limited symptomatic relief for Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and other progressive neurodegenerative disorders, Peter and his team work on tackling the root cause of the disease and forestalling, or eliminating completely, the onset of disease symptoms. Link will enter human clinical testing in early 2010. Scientific progress, and the huge unmet need for new therapies in these targeted disease areas led to a $40 million financing round for the company in September 2008.
