Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Dave Bisceglia is joining Founder Collective full-time as a Venture Partner.
Dave was most recently the VP of Product and Studio Operations at Scopely, the gaming juggernaut that has generated over a billion downloads and $10B in revenue to date. They operate top-grossing mobile games, including Marvel Strike Force, Monopoly GO, and recently acquired Pokémon GO. Before joining Scopely, Dave led development of Game of Thrones: Conquest, a billion-dollar franchise at WB Games (Warner Bros.), which acquired his Boston-based gaming startup, The Tap Lab. Everyone at Founder Collective has started and scaled a tech company, and Dave is no exception.
Dave brings the mindset of a founder and the discipline of an operator to early-stage investing. He has built, scaled, and successfully exited a venture-backed startup, gaining first-hand experience across the full founder journey. Beyond his operating roles, Dave has been an active angel investor and startup mentor. A proud advocate for Boston’s innovation ecosystem, he’s eager to partner with the next generation of entrepreneurs building ambitious, category-defining companies.
So how will a video game expert supercharge our portfolio? A few ways:
Generation Gamer
Dave’s work in gaming spans far more than just gameplay. Modern games are full-stack consumer platforms: they blend D2C, cross-platform distribution, merchandising, community, payments, marketing automation, and real-time analytics, all tied together with world-class user experience. Games have pioneered product-led growth, live operations, and monetization strategies long before they became buzzwords in tech. Dave has lived at the intersection of all these disciplines, brings a holistic view of what it takes to build and operate products that win at scale, and is well matched to our “Stage focused, sector agnostic” approach to investing.
He’s Operated, and Won, on the ‘Legendary Difficulty’ Setting

Scopely was the largest mobile game maker in the English-speaking world last year, beating out Zynga and Supercell. While at Scopely, Dave oversaw some of their top franchises including Marvel Strike Force and WWE Champions. Throughout his career, he has led the development of multiple billion dollar franchises, built and scaled high-performing teams, and worked with some of the biggest brands out there. Dave knows what it takes to operate consumer products at scale, and we believe his experience and insight will level up our portfolio.
Deeply Understands Go-to-Market
Dave’s a master of go-to-market nuance: the quirks of paid channels, golden cohorts, and the subtle relationship between UX and ROI. In his world, go-to-market isn’t an afterthought; it’s a core component of the product development process, and we’re excited to see that skill set permeate our startups.
An Eye for Talent
Throughout his career, Dave has had a knack for attracting and developing top talent. More recently, he stepped into a role where he has been focused on identifying, vetting, and securing top talent and developers for Scopely’s growing portfolio of games. He’s also done due diligence evaluating studio partnerships and M&A opportunities. In other words, he’s already been doing much of what a VC does in terms of scouting promising new teams and building relationships.
Leveled Up Partnership Experience
While Dave knows how to build and scale consumer products that last, he’s also a skilled B2B operator. He has developed partnerships with major platforms like Apple and Google, negotiated deals with a wide range of development partners and vendors, and secured some of the world’s most popular IPs for games. He’s well-versed in licensing, distribution, and creates lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships that drive long-term value.
Respawning in His Home Base
Though he’s spent the past few years in LA, Dave is a Massachusetts native through and through. He grew up in Greater Boston, graduated from Boston University, and built his first startup here in Cambridge. Now, he’s back and bringing with him a deep well of experience and a strong local network. Dave has always believed in the region’s unique blend of technical talent, academic depth, and founder grit. He’s excited to plug back into the community, support the next wave of local entrepreneurs, and help build the future from the place where his own journey began.
The Real Power-Up: Alignment
None of these technical skills and career accomplishments would matter if Dave didn’t share our values. Founder Collective is technically a seed fund, but we really view ourselves as founders who invest. Dave is curious, kind, humble, but quietly competitive and obsessed with helping great founders win. We’ve gotten to know Dave well since he moved back to Boston last year and over the last several months we’ve come to appreciate Dave’s instincts and alignment with our values. We are thrilled to have him joining us now.
Please join us in welcoming Dave B. to our Cambridge office!
